Biography

Joe Lawless was promoted to Vice President and Chief Actuary on March 1, 2026, after joining the Company in 2022. In this role, Mr. Lawless leads the Actuarial department and oversees analytics, reserving, and ratemaking initiatives. He has over a decade of experience in the property and casualty industry, including pricing and capital management roles with Allstate Insurance Company and American Family Mutual Insurance Company. He holds bachelor’s degrees in finance and economics from the University of Notre Dame and is a Fellow of Casualty Actuarial Society.
